How do i undo digitally signed message sending apple mail

A very specific question!

Unfortunately, once you've sent a digitally signed message using Apple Mail, it's not possible to "undo" the sending process. The message has already been transmitted to the recipient's email server, and the digital signature has been verified.

However, if you're concerned about the security of the message or want to retract the message, here are a few options:

  1. Send a recall request: If you're using a mail client that supports recall, such as Microsoft Outlook, you can send a recall request to the recipient. This will attempt to recall the message from the recipient's email server. However, this is not a foolproof method, as the recipient may have already read or forwarded the message.
  2. Send a new message with a retraction: You can send a new email to the recipient apologizing for the mistake and asking them to disregard the original message. This approach is more effective than a recall request, as it provides a clear explanation and a new message that can be verified.
  3. Use a secure email service: If you're concerned about the security of your messages, consider using a secure email service like ProtonMail, Tutanota, or Mailfence. These services offer end-to-end encryption and other security features to protect your messages.
  4. Delete the message: If you're unable to recall or retract the message, you can delete the original message from your email client. This will remove the message from your inbox, but it won't affect the recipient's copy of the message.

To delete a digitally signed message in Apple Mail:

  1. Open Apple Mail and select the message you want to delete.
  2. Right-click (or control-click) on the message and select "Move to Trash" or press the "Delete" key.
  3. Confirm that you want to delete the message.

Keep in mind that deleting the message from your email client won't delete the message from the recipient's email server. The recipient may still have a copy of the message, and you won't be able to recall or retract it.
