How do you set up hotmail on windows live mail

A blast from the past! Windows Live Mail is an older email client, and Hotmail is now known as Outlook.com. However, I can guide you through the process of setting up Hotmail (Outlook.com) on Windows Live Mail.

Prerequisites:

  1. Make sure you have Windows Live Mail installed on your computer.
  2. You have a Hotmail (Outlook.com) account with a valid email address and password.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Open Windows Live Mail on your computer.
  2. Click on "Email" in the top menu bar and select "Accounts" from the drop-down menu.
  3. Click on "Add a new email account" and select "Manual setup or additional server types".
  4. Select "POP" or "IMAP" as the account type (IMAP is recommended for syncing emails across devices).
  5. Enter the following settings:
    • Your Name: Enter your name as you want it to appear in the "From" field of your emails.
    • Email Address: Enter your Hotmail (Outlook.com) email address.
    • Password: Enter your Hotmail (Outlook.com) password.
    • POP3 Server: outlook.office365.com (for Hotmail/Outlook.com accounts)
    • POP3 Port: 995
    • SMTP Server: smtp.office365.com (for Hotmail/Outlook.com accounts)
