How long is the mail rail

The Mail Rail, also known as the Post Office Railway, is a disused underground railway system in London, England, that was used to transport mail between sorting offices and the General Post Office in London. The railway was approximately 6.5 miles (10.5 kilometers) long and had 21 stations.

The Mail Rail was built in the 1920s and 1930s and was in operation until 2003, when it was closed due to declining mail volumes and the increasing use of road transport. The railway was abandoned and left to decay, but in recent years, there have been efforts to restore and reuse the tunnel and its infrastructure.

In 2017, a new attraction called "Mail Rail" opened in the tunnel, offering visitors a guided tour of the underground railway and its history. The attraction features interactive exhibits, artifacts, and a recreated mail sorting office, as well as a chance to ride on a replica of one of the original mail trains.
