The cost of postage for a letter in the United States depends on the weight and size of the letter, as well as the destination. Here are the current rates for First-Class Mail letters:
Domestic (within the United States)
- 1 oz letter (up to 5.5 inches long, 4.5 inches wide, and 0.25 inches thick): $0.55
- 2 oz letter (up to 6.125 inches long, 4.5 inches wide, and 0.25 inches thick): $0.70
- 3 oz letter (up to 6.125 inches long, 4.5 inches wide, and 0.25 inches thick): $0.85
International
- 1 oz letter (up to 6.125 inches long, 4.5 inches wide, and 0.25 inches thick) to Canada: $1.20
- 1 oz letter (up to 6.125 inches long, 4.5 inches wide, and 0.25 inches thick) to other countries: $1.30
