How to access iitg mail

IIT Guwahati (IITG) provides email services to its students, faculty, and staff. Here's how you can access your IITG mail:

Method 1: Using the IITG Webmail Interface

1. Go to the IITG Webmail interface: webmail.iitg.ac.in
2. Enter your IITG email ID (e.g., [your_username]@iitg.ac.in) and password.
3. Click on the "Login" button to access your email account.

Method 2: Using a Mail Client (e.g., Outlook, Thunderbird)

1. Set up your email client to connect to the IITG mail server:
   • For Outlook: Go to File > Account Settings > New > Manual setup or additional server types > Internet Email. Enter the following settings:
     • Server: mail.iitg.ac.in
     • Port: 587 (for SMTP) or 993 (for IMAP)
     • Username: your IITG email ID (e.g., [your_username]@iitg.ac.in)
     • Password: your IITG email password
   • For Thunderbird: Go to Account Settings > Server Settings > Outgoing Server (SMTP). Enter the following settings:
     • Server: mail.iitg.ac.in
     • Port: 587
     • Username: your IITG email ID (e.g., [your_username]@iitg.ac.in)
     • Password: your IITG email password
2. Click "OK" to save the settings and connect to your IITG email account.

Tips:

• Make sure to use your IITG email ID and password correctly.
• If you're having trouble accessing your email, try checking the IITG email server status or contacting the IITG IT department for assistance.
