How to add designation in windows 10 mail

To add a designation or a label to an email in Windows 10 Mail, you can follow these steps:

  1. Open the Windows 10 Mail app and sign in to your email account.
  2. Compose a new email or open an existing one that you want to add a designation to.
  3. Click on the "Tags" button located in the top-right corner of the compose window. It looks like a small tag icon.
  4. Click on "New tag" and enter the name of the designation you want to add. For example, "Work" or "Personal".
  5. Click "OK" to save the new tag.
  6. You can now assign the designation to the email by clicking on the "Tags" button again and selecting the designation from the list.
  7. To view all emails with a specific designation, click on the "Tags" button and select the designation from the list. This will show you all emails that have been assigned that designation.

Alternatively, you can also add a designation to an email by using the "Categories" feature. To do this:

  1. Open the Windows 10 Mail app and sign in to your email account.
  2. Compose a new email or open an existing one that you want to add a designation to.
  3. Click on the "Categories" button located in the top-right corner of the compose window. It looks like a small folder icon.
  4. Click on "New category" and enter the name of the designation you want to add. For example, "Work" or "Personal".
  5. Click "OK" to save the new category.
  6. You can now assign the designation to the email by clicking on the "Categories" button again and selecting the category from the list.
  7. To view all emails with a specific designation, click on the "Categories" button and select the category from the list. This will show you all emails that have been assigned that designation.

Note that the "Tags" and "Categories" features are not the same thing, although they serve a similar purpose. "Tags" are more like keywords or labels that you can assign to an email, while "Categories" are more like folders that you can use to organize your emails.
