How to add your gmail to mail

To add your Gmail account to Mail (the default email app on Macs), follow these steps:

Method 1: Add Gmail account using Mail settings

  1. Open Mail on your Mac.
  2. Click on "Mail" in the top menu bar and select "Preferences" (or use the keyboard shortcut Command + comma).
  3. Click on the "Accounts" tab.
  4. Click on the "+" button at the bottom left corner of the window.
  5. Select "Other Mail Account" from the dropdown menu.
  6. Enter your Gmail address and password.
  7. Click "Continue".
  8. Mail will ask you to allow access to your Gmail account. Click "Allow".
  9. You will be asked to select the type of account you want to set up. Choose "IMAP" or "POP" depending on your preference.
  10. Click "Create" to add your Gmail account to Mail.

Method 2: Add Gmail account using Google's settings

  1. Open Gmail on your Mac.
  2. Click on the gear icon in the top right corner of the window.
  3. Select "See all settings".
  4. Click on the "Accounts and Import" tab.
  5. Click on "Add a POP or IMAP email account".
  6. Enter your email address and password.
