How to automatically move junk mail in outlook 2010
The never-ending battle against junk mail! Outlook 2010 has a built-in feature to help you automatically move junk mail to a designated folder. Here's how to set it up:
Step 1: Enable Junk Email Filtering
- Open Outlook 2010 and go to the "Home" tab in the ribbon.
- Click on the "Junk Email" button in the "Move" group.
- Select "Junk Email Options" from the dropdown menu.
Step 2: Configure Junk Email Filtering
- In the "Junk Email Options" window, click on the "Filters" tab.
- Under "SCL (Spam Confidence Level) Rating", select the level of junk email you want to filter out (e.g., "Low", "Medium", or "High").
- Under "Trustworthy Senders", add the email addresses or domains of senders you trust (e.g., your friends, family, or colleagues).
- Under "Blocked Senders", add the email addresses or domains of senders you want to block (e.g., spammers or unwanted newsletters).
Step 3: Set up a Junk Mail Folder
- Create a new folder in your Outlook mailbox where you want to move junk mail. You can do this by right-clicking on the "Inbox" folder and selecting "New Folder".
- Name the folder something like "Junk Mail" or "Spam".
Step 4: Configure Junk Email Rules
- Go back to the "Junk Email Options" window and click on the "Rules" tab.
- Click on "New Rule" and select "Move messages from someone to a folder".
- In the "Select a condition" dropdown menu, select "Where the sender is in my Blocked Senders list".
