How to back mail in outlook
Backmailing in Outlook refers to the process of sending an email to someone who has previously sent an email to you, usually in response to their original message. Here's how to back mail in Outlook:
Method 1: Using the "Reply" feature
- Open the original email from the sender in Outlook.
- Click on the "Reply" button in the top toolbar or press the "R" key on your keyboard.
- In the "Reply" window, type your response to the sender.
- Click on the "Send" button to send your response.
Method 2: Using the "Reply All" feature
- Open the original email from the sender in Outlook.
- Click on the "Reply All" button in the top toolbar or press the "Ctrl+Shift+R" keys on your keyboard.
- In the "Reply All" window, type your response to the sender and any other recipients who were CC'd or BCC'd on the original email.
- Click on the "Send" button to send your response.
Method 3: Using the "Back Mail" feature (Outlook 2010 and later)
- Open the original email from the sender in Outlook.
- Click on the "Back Mail" button in the "Home" tab of the ribbon or press the "Alt+F8" keys on your keyboard.
- In the "Back Mail" window, type your response to the sender.
- Click on the "Send" button to send your response.
Tips:
- When you back mail, the original sender will receive your response as a new email, and they will not see the original email in their inbox.
- If you want to keep a copy of the original email in your inbox, you can forward it to yourself before back mailing.
- You can also use the "Forward" feature to forward the original email to someone else, and then respond to the original sender using the "Reply" or "Reply All" feature.
