How to block email address apple mail

To block an email address in Apple Mail on your Mac or iOS device, follow these steps:

On a Mac:

  1. Open Apple Mail and select the email account you want to block the email address from.
  2. Click on "Mail" in the top menu bar and select "Preferences" (or use the keyboard shortcut Command + Comma).
  3. Click on the "Rules" tab.
  4. Click the "+" button at the bottom left corner of the window to create a new rule.
  5. Select "Match" and then "Sender" from the drop-down menus.
  6. Enter the email address you want to block in the "Contains" field.
  7. Click the "Add" button.
  8. Click the "Then" dropdown menu and select "Move Message" to the "Trash" folder.
  9. Click "OK" to save the rule.

On an iOS device:

  1. Open the Apple Mail app.
  2. Tap on the "Mailboxes" tab at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Tap on the email account you want to block the email address from.
  4. Tap on the "Edit" button in the top right corner of the screen.
  5. Tap on the "Filter" button.
  6. Tap on "Add Filter" and then "Sender" from the drop-down menu.
  7. Enter the email address you want to block in the "Contains" field.
  8. Tap on the "Move to" dropdown menu and select "Trash".

Note: Blocking an email address in Apple Mail will move any future emails from that address to the Trash folder. If you want to block an email address and also prevent the sender from being able to send you emails, you may need to use a third-party email client or service that offers more advanced spam filtering features.

Additionally, you can also use the "Junk Mail" feature in Apple Mail to help block spam emails. To do this:

  1. Open Apple Mail and select the email account you want to use.
  2. Click on "Mail" in the top menu bar and select "Preferences" (or use the keyboard shortcut Command + Comma).
  3. Click on the "Junk Mail" tab.
  4. Select the "Mark as Junk Mail" checkbox.
  5. Click "OK" to save the changes.

Apple Mail will then use its built-in algorithms to help identify and move spam emails to the Junk folder.
