How to change date format in word 2007 mail merge
In Word 2007, you can change the date format in a mail merge using the following steps:
- Open your Word document and go to the "Mailings" tab in the ribbon.
- Click on the "Select Recipients" button and select the recipient list you want to use for the mail merge.
- Click on the "Write & Insert Fields" button in the "Write & Insert Fields" group.
- In the "Insert Merge Field" dialog box, select the date field you want to format (e.g. "Date" or "Birthdate").
- Click on the "Format" button next to the date field.
- In the "Format" dialog box, select the date format you want to use from the "Date format" dropdown list.
- Click "OK" to close the "Format" dialog box.
- Click "OK" to close the "Insert Merge Field" dialog box.
- Go back to your Word document and place your cursor where you want the formatted date to appear.
- Right-click on the cursor and select "Insert Merge Field" from the context menu.
- Select the date field you formatted in step 4 from the list of available fields.
- The formatted date should now appear in your Word document.
Alternatively, you can also use the "Merge Field" dialog box to format the date. To do this:
- Place your cursor where you want the formatted date to appear.
- Right-click on the cursor and select "Insert Merge Field" from the context menu.
- In the "Merge Field" dialog box, select the date field you want to format (e.g. "Date" or "Birthdate").
- Click on the "Format" button next to the date field.
- In the "Format" dialog box, select the date format you want to use from the "Date format" dropdown list.
- Click "OK" to close the "Format" dialog box.
- Click "OK" to close the "Merge Field" dialog box.
The formatted date should now appear in your Word document.
