How to check who deleted mail in gmail group mail

In Gmail, it can be challenging to determine who deleted a message in a group email. However, there are a few methods you can use to try to figure out who might have deleted the message:

  1. Check the email headers: You can view the email headers to see if there are any clues about who deleted the message. To do this:
    • Open the group email conversation.
    • Click on the three vertical dots at the top right corner of the email.
    • Select "Show original" from the dropdown menu.
    • In the email headers, look for the "Delivered-To" and "Received" headers. These might indicate who received and deleted the message.
  2. Check the email's "Viewed by" list: If the message was deleted by someone who had already viewed the email, you might be able to see who viewed the email by:
    • Opening the group email conversation.
    • Clicking on the three vertical dots at the top right corner of the email.
    • Selecting "Viewed by" from the dropdown menu.
    • This will show you a list of people who have viewed the email. If someone who viewed the email is also the one who deleted it, you might be able to identify them.
  3. Check the email's "Deleted by" label: If the message was deleted by someone who had already labeled the email, you might be able to see who labeled the email by:
    • Opening the group email conversation.
    • Clicking on the three vertical dots at the top right corner of the email.
    • Selecting "Labels" from the dropdown menu.
    • Look for any labels that indicate who deleted the email.
  4. Ask the group members: If you're still unable to determine who deleted the message, you can try asking the group members if they know who deleted the email. You can do this by:
    • Sending a new email to the group and asking if anyone knows who deleted the message.
    • Using the "Reply all" feature to respond to the original email and ask the same question.
  5. Use a third-party add-on: There are several third-party add-ons available for Gmail that can help you track email deletions. For example, you can try using the "Email Tracker" add-on, which allows you to track who opens and deletes emails.

Keep in mind that these methods may not always work, and it's possible that the person who deleted the message may not have left any trace or indication of their actions.
