How to clear space from gmail without deleting mails

There are a few ways to clear space from your Gmail account without deleting emails:

  1. Use the "Bulk actions" feature: Select multiple emails by checking the boxes next to them, then click on the "More" menu and select "Bulk actions" > "Mark as read" or "Mark as unread". This will quickly mark a large number of emails as read or unread, freeing up space in your inbox.
  2. Use the "Select all" feature: Check the box at the top of the inbox to select all emails on the current page. Then, click on the "More" menu and select "Mark as read" or "Mark as unread". This will mark all emails on the current page as read or unread.
  3. Use filters: Create a filter that automatically marks emails as read or archived. To do this, go to the "Filters and Blocked Addresses" tab, click on "Create a new filter", and enter the criteria for the filter (e.g. "From: [email address]"). Then, select "Apply the label" and choose "Mark as read" or "Archive".
  4. Use the "Priority Inbox" feature: Enable Priority Inbox, which will automatically move less important emails to a separate tab. This can help declutter your inbox and free up space.
  5. Use the "Inbox" and "Sent" tabs: If you have a lot of emails in your "Inbox" and "Sent" tabs, you can try moving some of them to other labels or folders to free up space. You can also use the "Move to" feature to move emails to other labels or folders.
  6. Use the "Search" feature: Use the search bar to find and mark as read or archived emails that are no longer important. You can use advanced search operators to find specific types of emails (e.g. "from: [email address]").
  7. Use third-party add-ons: There are several third-party add-ons available that can help you clear space from your Gmail account without deleting emails. For example, you can use the "Gmail Manager" add-on to mark emails as read or archived in bulk.

Remember to always be cautious when using these methods, as they can affect the organization and accessibility of your emails.
