How to configure domain in zoho mail

Configuring a domain in Zoho Mail involves several steps, which I'll outline below. Please note that you'll need to have a Zoho Mail account and a domain name registered with a registrar.

Step 1: Verify your domain ownership

  1. Log in to your Zoho Mail account and go to the "Settings" icon (represented by a gear) and select "Domain" from the dropdown menu.
  2. Click on "Verify Domain" and follow the instructions to add a TXT record to your domain's DNS settings. This will verify that you own the domain.

Step 2: Set up DNS records

  1. Log in to your domain registrar's control panel and access your domain's DNS settings.
  2. Create the following DNS records:
    • A record: @ (or yourdomain.com) pointing to 216.155.185.2 (Zoho's mail server)
    • MX record: yourdomain.com pointing to mail.zoho.com (Zoho's mail server)
    • TXT record: yourdomain.com with the value v=spf1 a mx include:spf.zoho.com ~all (for SPF authentication)
    • CNAME record: yourdomain.com pointing to yourdomain.zoho.com (for Zoho's mail server)

Step 3: Configure Zoho Mail

  1. Go back to your Zoho Mail account and click on "Settings" > "Domain" > "Edit Domain".
  2. Enter your domain name in the "Domain Name" field and click "Save".
  3. In the "MX Records" section, select "Use Zoho Mail's MX Records" and click "Save".
  4. In the "SPF Records" section, select "Use Zoho Mail's SPF Records" and click "Save".

Step 4: Set up email routing

  1. Go to your Zoho Mail account and click on "Settings" > "Email Routing" > "Edit Email Routing".
  2. Select "Route emails to Zoho Mail" and click "Save".

Step 5: Verify email routing

  1. Send an email from an external email address to your Zoho Mail account.
  2. Check your Zoho Mail account to ensure that the email has been received successfully.

Step 6: Set up email forwarding (optional)

If you want to forward emails from your Zoho Mail account to another email address, follow these steps:

  1. Go to your Zoho Mail account and click on "Settings" > "Email Forwarding" > "Edit Email Forwarding".
  2. Enter the email address you want to forward emails to and select the forwarding option (e.g., "Forward all emails").
  3. Click "Save".

That's it! Your domain should now be configured in Zoho Mail. If you encounter any issues during the process, you can refer to Zoho's documentation or contact their support team for assistance.
