How to delay delivery of mail in outlook

In Outlook, you can delay the delivery of an email by using the "Delay Delivery" feature. Here's how:

Method 1: Delay Delivery using the "More Options" button

  1. Compose your email as usual.
  2. Click the "More Options" button at the bottom of the email composition window.
  3. In the "More Options" window, click on the "Delay Delivery" button.
  4. Select the date and time you want the email to be delivered from the drop-down menus.
  5. Click "OK" to save the changes.

Method 2: Delay Delivery using the "Send" button

  1. Compose your email as usual.
  2. Click the "Send" button.
  3. In the "Send" window, click on the "Delay Delivery" button.
  4. Select the date and time you want the email to be delivered from the drop-down menus.
  5. Click "OK" to save the changes.

Method 3: Delay Delivery using the "Rules" feature

  1. Go to the "Home" tab in the Outlook ribbon.
  2. Click on the "Rules" button in the "Move" group.
  3. Click on "Manage Rules & Alerts" in the "Rules" window.
  4. Click on "New Rule" and select "Start from a blank rule".
  5. Choose "Delay delivery by a number of minutes" and click "Next".
  6. Set the delay time and click "Finish".

Note: The "Delay Delivery" feature is only available in Outlook 2010 and later versions. In earlier versions of Outlook, you can use the "Rules" feature to delay the delivery of emails.

Also, keep in mind that the "Delay Delivery" feature only works if you have a reliable internet connection and your email account is configured to use a mail server that supports delayed delivery.
