How to delete a folder in google mail
You can't actually delete a folder in Gmail, but you can archive or label it to remove it from your inbox and make it easier to find later. Here's how:
Method 1: Archive a folder
- Log in to your Gmail account.
- Click on the folder you want to delete (or archive).
- Click on the three vertical dots at the top right corner of the folder.
- Select "Archive" from the dropdown menu.
- The folder will be moved to your "All Mail" label, and it will no longer appear in your inbox.
Method 2: Label a folder
- Log in to your Gmail account.
- Click on the folder you want to delete (or label).
- Click on the three vertical dots at the top right corner of the folder.
- Select "Label" from the dropdown menu.
- Choose a label from the list or create a new one by typing in the label name.
- The folder will be moved to the label you selected, and it will no longer appear in your inbox.
Method 3: Use the "Move to" feature
- Log in to your Gmail account.
- Click on the folder you want to delete (or move).
- Click on the three vertical dots at the top right corner of the folder.
- Select "Move to" from the dropdown menu.
- Choose a label or folder from the list, or create a new one by typing in the label name.
- The folder will be moved to the label or folder you selected, and it will no longer appear in your inbox.
Note that you can't permanently delete a folder in Gmail, as it's a cloud-based email service and all emails and folders are stored on Google's servers. However, by archiving, labeling, or moving a folder, you can effectively remove it from your inbox and make it easier to find later.
