How to delete a mail sent in outlook

The eternal quest to undo a sent email!

In Outlook, you can delete a sent email, but it's not as straightforward as deleting a regular email. Here are the steps:

Method 1: Delete a sent email from the Sent Items folder

  1. Open Outlook and navigate to the Sent Items folder. You can do this by clicking on the Sent Items folder in the Navigation Pane or by pressing Ctrl + Shift + S.
  2. Find the email you want to delete in the Sent Items folder.
  3. Right-click on the email and select Delete.
  4. Confirm that you want to delete the email by clicking OK in the pop-up dialog box.

Method 2: Use the "Undo Send" feature (if available)

  1. If you have the "Undo Send" feature enabled, you can undo a sent email within a short period of time (usually 30 seconds).
  2. To enable "Undo Send", go to File > Options > Mail, and under the "Compose messages" section, check the box next to "Enable undo send".
  3. Once you've enabled "Undo Send", you can undo a sent email by clicking on the Undo Send button in the Send/Receive group on the Home tab.
  4. If you've already sent the email, you'll see a "Undo Send" button next to the email in the Sent Items folder. Click on this button to undo the send.

Method 3: Use the "Recall This Message" feature

  1. If you've sent an email and want to recall it, you can use the "Recall This Message" feature.
  2. Find the email in the Sent Items folder and right-click on it.
  3. Select Recall This Message from the context menu.
  4. In the "Recall This Message" dialog box, select the option to "Delete unread copies of this message" and click OK.
  5. The email will be deleted from the recipient's inbox, but it may not be deleted from their "Sent Items" folder.
