How to delete a wrongly sent mail

The frustration of sending an email by mistake! Don't worry, I'm here to help. Here are the steps to delete a wrongly sent email:

Method 1: Delete the email from the recipient's inbox

  1. Log in to your email account.
  2. Go to the "Sent" folder (or "Outbox" if you haven't checked the email yet).
  3. Find the wrongly sent email and click on it.
  4. Click on the "Reply" or "Reply All" button (depending on the email).
  5. In the reply window, click on the "Delete" button or press the "Delete" key on your keyboard.
  6. Confirm that you want to delete the email.

Method 2: Recall the email (if supported by your email provider)

  1. Log in to your email account.
  2. Go to the "Sent" folder (or "Outbox" if you haven't checked the email yet).
  3. Find the wrongly sent email and click on it.
  4. Look for a "Recall" or "Resend" option (this may vary depending on your email provider).
  5. Click on the "Recall" button to try to recall the email from the recipient's inbox.
  6. If the recall is successful, the email will be deleted from the recipient's inbox.

Method 3: Use your email provider's "Unsend" feature (if available)

Some email providers, like Gmail, offer an "Unsend" feature that allows you to retract an email within a certain time frame (usually a few minutes). Here's how to use it:

  1. Log in to your Gmail account.
  2. Go to the "Sent" folder.
  3. Find the wrongly sent email and click on it.
  4. Click on the three vertical dots next to the email.
  5. Select "Unsend" from the dropdown menu.
  6. Confirm that you want to unsend the email.

Method 4: Contact the recipient and ask them to delete the email

If the above methods don't work, you can try contacting the recipient and asking them to delete the email. You can send a new email to the recipient explaining the situation and asking them to delete the original email.

Remember to always double-check the recipient's email address before sending an email to avoid sending it to the wrong person in the future.
