How to delete email account from mail

To delete an email account from Mail (the default email app on Macs), follow these steps:

Method 1: Delete an email account from Mail preferences

  1. Open Mail on your Mac.
  2. Click on "Mail" in the top menu bar and select "Preferences" (or use the keyboard shortcut Command + comma).
  3. Click on the "Accounts" tab.
  4. Select the email account you want to delete from the list of accounts.
  5. Click the "minus sign" (-) button at the bottom left corner of the window to remove the account.
  6. Confirm that you want to delete the account by clicking "Delete" in the pop-up dialog box.

Method 2: Delete an email account from the Mail settings

  1. Open Mail on your Mac.
  2. Click on the "Mail" menu in the top menu bar and select "Settings" (or use the keyboard shortcut Command + comma).
  3. Click on the "Accounts" tab.
