How to delete emails from imap server with windows mail

To delete emails from an IMAP server using Windows Mail, you can follow these steps:

  1. Open Windows Mail: You can find Windows Mail in the Start menu or by searching for it in the search bar.
  2. Select the IMAP account: In the Windows Mail window, click on the "Accounts" button in the top left corner, then select the IMAP account you want to delete emails from.
  3. Open the email folder: In the "Accounts" window, click on the "View" button, then select the email folder you want to delete emails from (e.g. Inbox, Sent Items, etc.).
  4. Select the emails to delete: In the email folder window, select the emails you want to delete by checking the boxes next to them.
  5. Right-click and select "Delete": Right-click on the selected emails and select "Delete" from the context menu.
  6. Confirm the deletion: A confirmation dialog box will appear asking if you're sure you want to delete the selected emails. Click "Yes" to confirm the deletion.

Alternatively, you can also use the "Shift" key to select multiple emails at once. For example, if you want to delete 5 emails, you can select the first email, then hold down the "Shift" key and select the last email. This will select all the emails in between.

Note: If you want to delete all emails in a folder, you can select the folder and then press the "Delete" key on your keyboard.

Also, you can use the "Empty Trash" option to permanently delete the emails from the IMAP server. To do this, go to the "Accounts" window, select the IMAP account, then click on the "View" button and select the "Trash" folder. Then, right-click on the "Trash" folder and select "Empty Trash". This will permanently delete all emails in the "Trash" folder from the IMAP server.

It's worth noting that when you delete emails from an IMAP server using Windows Mail, they are actually moved to the "Trash" folder on the server. To permanently delete them, you need to empty the "Trash" folder as described above.
