How to delete mailed text peramantly
The pesky "sent" texts that we sometimes wish we could erase from existence!
Unfortunately, once a text message is sent, it's generally not possible to delete it permanently from the recipient's phone or device. However, there are a few ways to delete a text message from your own device:
Method 1: Delete from your phone's messaging app
- Open your phone's messaging app (e.g., Messages, SMS, or Text Messages).
- Find the conversation containing the message you want to delete.
- Long-press on the message to select it.
- Tap the "Delete" or "Trash" icon to delete the message.
- Confirm that you want to delete the message.
Method 2: Delete from your phone's settings
- Go to your phone's settings app.
- Scroll down and select "Messages" or "SMS" (depending on your phone's operating system).
- Look for the "Conversations" or "Chats" section.
- Find the conversation containing the message you want to delete.
- Tap the "Delete" or "Trash" icon next to the conversation to delete all messages in that conversation, including the one you want to delete.
Method 3: Use a third-party app
There are several third-party apps available that can help you delete sent text messages, such as:
- SMS Delete (Android)
- Delete Sent Messages (iOS)
- Text Message Delete (Android)
Please note that these apps may not work for all phones or carriers, and some may require root access or other permissions.
Important note: Deleting a sent text message from your own device does not guarantee that the recipient will not still have a copy of the message. If you're concerned about the message being seen by someone else, it's best to be mindful of what you send and to whom you send it.
