How to delete recent mail search in gmail

In Gmail, the "Recent" search filter shows emails that have been accessed or interacted with recently. If you want to delete the recent mail search results, you can follow these steps:

Method 1: Delete recent search results from the search page

  1. Log in to your Gmail account.
  2. Click on the search bar at the top of the page.
  3. Type "in:inbox is:recent" in the search bar and press Enter.
  4. This will show you the recent emails in your inbox.
  5. Select the emails you want to delete by checking the boxes next to them.
  6. Click on the "Bulk actions" dropdown menu at the top of the page and select "Delete forever".

Method 2: Delete recent search results from the "All Mail" label

  1. Log in to your Gmail account.
  2. Click on the "More" menu at the top of the page and select "All Mail".
  3. Click on the "Search" button at the top of the page.
  4. Type "is:recent" in the search bar and press Enter.
  5. This will show you all recent emails in your account, including those in your inbox, spam, and trash.
  6. Select the emails you want to delete by checking the boxes next to them.
  7. Click on the "Bulk actions" dropdown menu at the top of the page and select "Delete forever".

Note: When you delete emails using these methods, they will be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. Make sure you're deleting the correct emails before proceeding.

Alternatively, you can also use the "Search" function to find specific emails and delete them individually. To do this:

  1. Log in to your Gmail account.
  2. Click on the search bar at the top of the page.
  3. Type a keyword or phrase related to the email you want to delete.
  4. Press Enter to search for the email.
  5. Select the email you want to delete by checking the box next to it.
  6. Click on the "Trash" button at the top of the page to move the email to the trash.
  7. Confirm that you want to delete the email by clicking "OK" in the pop-up window.
