How to find archived mail in thunderbird
In Thunderbird, archived emails are stored in a separate folder called "Archived" by default. Here are the steps to find archived mail in Thunderbird:
- Open Thunderbird: First, open Thunderbird on your computer.
- Click on the "Inbox" button: In the top left corner of the Thunderbird window, click on the "Inbox" button to open the Inbox folder.
- Look for the "Archived" folder: In the folder list on the left side of the window, scroll down and look for the "Archived" folder. It's usually located near the bottom of the list.
- Double-click on the "Archived" folder: Double-click on the "Archived" folder to open it. This will display all the archived emails in the folder.
- Use the search function: If you're having trouble finding a specific archived email, you can use Thunderbird's search function. Click on the "Search" button in the top right corner of the window, and enter your search criteria (e.g., a keyword, sender, or recipient).
- Use the "Show" menu: You can also use the "Show" menu to filter the archived emails. Click on "Show" > "Archived" to only show archived emails, or click on "Show" > "All" to show all emails, including archived ones.
Tips:
- By default, Thunderbird moves emails to the "Archived" folder when you mark them as "Read" or "Done". You can change this behavior by going to "Tools" > "Account Settings" > "Server Settings" and adjusting the "Move messages to" option.
- You can also use the "Filter" button in the top right corner of the window to create a custom filter to find archived emails.
- If you're using a large number of archived emails, you may want to consider using a third-party add-on like "Archived Mail Manager" to help you manage and search your archived emails more efficiently.
