How to find mail header in outlook
In Outlook, you can find the mail header by following these steps:
Method 1: Using the "View" tab
- Open the email message you want to view the header for.
- Click on the "View" tab in the ribbon.
- Click on "View Settings" in the "Current View" group.
- In the "View Settings" dialog box, click on the "Other Settings" button.
- Scroll down to the "Headers" section and check the box next to "Show headers".
- Click "OK" to close the dialog box.
Method 2: Using the "Message" tab
- Open the email message you want to view the header for.
- Click on the "Message" tab in the ribbon.
- Click on "Properties" in the "Tags" group.
- In the "Message Properties" dialog box, click on the "Internet Headers" tab.
- The mail header will be displayed in the "Internet Headers" tab.
Method 3: Using the keyboard shortcut
- Open the email message you want to view the header for.
- Press the "Ctrl + Shift + R" keys on your keyboard.
- The mail header will be displayed in a new window.
The mail header will display information such as:
- The sender's email address
- The recipient's email address
- The subject of the email
- The date and time the email was sent
- The IP address of the sender's email server
- And other technical details about the email transmission
Note: The mail header may not be displayed by default in Outlook. You may need to enable it by following the steps above.
