How to force quit mail

The frustration of a stuck email client! Here are some ways to force quit Mail on your Mac:

Method 1: Using the Force Quit feature

  1. Press Command (⌘) + Option (⌥) + Esc to open the Force Quit window.
  2. Select "Mail" from the list of running applications.
  3. Click the "Force Quit" button.

Method 2: Using Activity Monitor

  1. Open the Activity Monitor app, which can be found in the Applications/Utilities folder or by searching for it in Spotlight.
  2. Click on the "CPU" tab.
  3. Find the "Mail" process in the list and select it.
  4. Click the "Quit Process" button in the top-right corner of the window.

Method 3: Using the Terminal

  1. Open the Terminal app, which can be found in the Applications/Utilities folder or by searching for it in Spotlight.
  2. Type the following command and press Enter: killall Mail
  3. This will force quit the Mail app.

Method 4: Using the Dock

  1. Click and hold on the Mail icon in the Dock until a menu appears.
  2. Select "Quit" from the menu.

  1. Click on the Apple menu in the top-left corner of the screen.
