How to know mail read or not

There are a few ways to determine if an email has been read or not:

  1. Read Receipt: Some email providers, like Gmail, allow you to request a read receipt from the recipient. When the recipient opens the email, they will receive a notification asking if they want to send a read receipt back to you. If they agree, you'll receive a notification indicating that the email has been read.
  2. Email Client Tracking: Some email clients, like Microsoft Outlook, track when an email is opened and provide this information in the email's properties or in a separate tracking report.
  3. Image Tracking: Some email providers use image tracking to track when an email is opened. When you send an email, it includes a small image (called a "tracking pixel") that is loaded when the email is opened. This allows the sender to track when the email is opened.
  4. Email Analytics Tools: There are various email analytics tools available that can track email opens, clicks, and other engagement metrics. These tools can provide insights into whether an email has been read or not.
  5. Check the Email Header: Some email providers, like Gmail, display a "Viewed" or "Read" label next to the email subject line if the email has been opened.

Here are some specific steps to check if an email has been read:

Gmail:

  1. Open the email you want to check.
  2. Click on the three vertical dots next to the reply button.
  3. Select "Show original" from the dropdown menu.
  4. In the email header, look for the "Delivered-To" and "Received" lines. If the "Delivered-To" line shows a timestamp and the "Received" line shows a timestamp with a "Viewed" or "Read" label, it indicates that the email has been opened.

Microsoft Outlook:

  1. Open the email you want to check.
  2. Right-click on the email and select "Properties" or "View Properties".
  3. In the email properties window, look for the "Tracking" or "Delivery" tab.
  4. Check if the "Read" or "Opened" status is marked as "Yes" or "True".

Other Email Providers:

  1. Check the email client's settings or preferences to see if it has a built-in tracking feature.
  2. Use an email analytics tool to track email opens and other engagement metrics.

Keep in mind that some email providers may not allow tracking or may have restrictions on tracking certain types of emails. Additionally, some recipients may use email clients that do not support tracking or may have disabled tracking in their email settings.
