How to know mails linked with gmail

There are a few ways to know if an email is linked to a Gmail account:

  1. Check the sender's email address: If the sender's email address ends with @gmail.com, it's likely that the email is linked to a Gmail account.
  2. Look for the "From" field: In the "From" field of the email, you may see a name followed by a Gmail address, such as "John Doe [email protected]". This indicates that the email is linked to a Gmail account.
  3. Check the email headers: You can view the email headers by clicking on the three vertical dots at the top right corner of the email and selecting "Show original". In the email headers, you may see a line that starts with "Received: from" followed by a Gmail server, such as "Received: from mail-gw0-f44.google.com". This indicates that the email was sent from a Gmail server.
  4. Use a email header analyzer tool: There are online tools, such as Email Header Analyzer or Header Analyzer, that can help you analyze the email headers and determine if the email is linked to a Gmail account.
  5. Check for Gmail-specific metadata: Some emails sent from Gmail may contain metadata, such as "X-Gm-Message-State" or "X-Gm-Message-Id", which can indicate that the email was sent from a Gmail account.

Here's an example of what the email headers might look like for an email sent from a Gmail account:

Received: from mail-gw0-f44.google.com (mail-gw0-f44.google.com [IPv6:2001:4860:4802:32::1]) by mx.google.com with ESMTPS id 14sm1442344qab.2.2022.02.16.14.30.00 (version=TLS1_2 cipher=ECDHE-ECDSA-AES-256-GCM-SHA384 bits=256/256);

This indicates that the email was sent from a Gmail server (mail-gw0-f44.google.com) and was received by a Gmail server (mx.google.com).

Keep in mind that these methods are not foolproof, and it's possible for an email to be sent from a Gmail account without leaving any obvious traces.
