To log out of Mail on a Mac, you can follow these steps:
Method 1: Log out from the Mail app
- Open the Mail app on your Mac.
- Click on the "Mail" menu at the top of the screen.
- Select "Preferences" from the dropdown menu.
- Click on the "Accounts" tab.
- Select the account you want to log out of from the list of accounts on the left side of the window.
- Click the "Edit" button next to the account.
- Click the "Sign Out" button at the bottom of the window.
Method 2: Log out from the Apple Menu
- Click on the Apple menu at the top of the screen.
- Select "System Preferences" from the dropdown menu.
- Click on "Users & Groups".
- Select your user account from the list of accounts on the left side of the window.
- Click the "Log Out" button at the bottom of the window.
Method 3: Log out from the Dock
- Click on the Mail app icon in the Dock.
- Right-click (or control-click) on the Mail app icon.
- Select "Quit" from the context menu.
Note: If you're using macOS High Sierra or later, you may need to use the "Sign Out" option instead of "Log Out" in the Users & Groups preferences pane.
After logging out of Mail, you will be prompted to enter your password to log back in.
