To make an email account inactive in Apple Mail, you can follow these steps:

Method 1: Delete the account

  1. Open Apple Mail on your Mac or iOS device.
  2. Click on the "Mail" menu and select "Preferences" (on Mac) or "Settings" (on iOS).
  3. Click on the "Accounts" tab (on Mac) or "Accounts & Passwords" tab (on iOS).
  4. Select the email account you want to make inactive from the list of accounts.
  5. Click the "Delete" button (on Mac) or "Edit" button (on iOS) next to the account.
  6. Confirm that you want to delete the account by clicking "Delete" (on Mac) or "Remove" (on iOS).
