How to preview mail in outlook
In Outlook, you can preview an email message without opening it by using the "Preview Pane" or "Reading Pane". Here's how:
Method 1: Using the Preview Pane
- Open Outlook and navigate to the Inbox or any other folder that contains emails.
- Click on the "View" tab in the ribbon.
- In the "Layout" group, click on the "Preview Pane" button.
- The Preview Pane will open on the right side of the screen, displaying a preview of the selected email message.
- You can scroll through the emails in the list and hover over each one to see a preview of the message without opening it.
Method 2: Using the Reading Pane
- Open Outlook and navigate to the Inbox or any other folder that contains emails.
- Click on an email message in the list to select it.
- The Reading Pane will open below the list of emails, displaying the selected email message.
- You can scroll through the emails in the list and click on each one to see the message in the Reading Pane without opening it.
Tips:
- You can adjust the width of the Preview Pane or Reading Pane by dragging the border between the two panes.
- You can also use the "Preview" button in the "Home" tab to toggle the Preview Pane on and off.
- If you prefer to see the preview in a separate window, you can use the "New Window" button in the "View" tab to open the email message in a new window.
