How to put mail on vacation hold
The joys of taking a break and not having to worry about your mail piling up! Here's how to put your mail on vacation hold:
USPS (United States Postal Service)
- Go to the USPS website (usps.com) and click on "Hold Mail" under the "Quick Tools" section.
- Sign in to your USPS account or create one if you don't have one already.
- Enter your name, address, and the dates you'd like to hold your mail (up to 30 days).
- Confirm your request and you'll receive a confirmation email.
USPS Mobile App
- Download the USPS Mobile App (available for iOS and Android).
- Sign in to your USPS account or create one if you don't have one already.
- Tap on "Hold Mail" and follow the prompts to enter your name, address, and the dates you'd like to hold your mail.
Local Post Office
- Visit your local post office and speak with a postal worker.
- Provide them with your name, address, and the dates you'd like to hold your mail.
- They'll take care of the rest and put your mail on hold.
Other Options
- If you're a military personnel or a student, you can also request mail hold through the USPS's Military Mail Hold or Student Mail Hold programs.
- Some private mailbox rental services, like UPS Store or Mailboxes Etc., may also offer mail hold services. Contact them directly to inquire about their policies.
Remember to request mail hold at least 3 business days before your departure date to ensure your mail is held.
