How to recall a mail from gmail
To recall an email from Gmail, you can use the "Undo Send" feature, which allows you to retract an email within a certain time frame after sending it. Here's how:
Method 1: Using the "Undo Send" feature
- Go to your Gmail account and click on the gear icon in the upper right corner.
- Select "See all settings" from the dropdown menu.
- Scroll down to the "General" tab and look for the "Undo Send" section.
- Enable the "Enable Undo Send" toggle switch.
- Set the "Undo Send" time frame to your desired duration (5, 10, 15, or 30 seconds).
- Click "Save Changes" at the bottom of the page.
Now, when you send an email, you'll have the option to recall it within the set time frame. Here's how:
- After sending an email, click on the "Undo" button that appears at the top of the page.
- Confirm that you want to recall the email by clicking "Undo" again.
Method 2: Using the "Unsend" feature (only available for some accounts)
- Go to your Gmail account and click on the three vertical dots next to the "Send" button.
- Select "Unsend" from the dropdown menu.
- Confirm that you want to recall the email by clicking "Unsend" again.
Note: The "Unsend" feature is only available for accounts that have the "Undo Send" feature enabled and have a Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) subscription.
Important notes:
- The "Undo Send" feature only works for emails sent from the Gmail web interface. It doesn't work for emails sent from the Gmail mobile app or other email clients.
- The feature only works for a limited time after sending the email, so you need to act quickly to recall the email.
- Recalled emails will be marked as "Undelivered" in the recipient's inbox, and they may still be able to access the email if they have a cached copy or if the email was already delivered to their server.
