How to recall the sent mail in gmail
To recall an email in Gmail, you can use the "Undo Send" feature, which allows you to retract an email within a certain time frame after sending it. Here's how:
Method 1: Using the "Undo Send" feature
- Go to your Gmail account and click on the gear icon in the upper right corner.
- Select "See all settings" from the dropdown menu.
- Scroll down to the "General" tab.
- Look for the "Undo Send" option and toggle it to the "On" position.
- Set the "Undo Send" time frame to the desired duration (e.g., 5, 10, 15, or 30 seconds).
- Click "Save Changes" at the bottom of the page.
Now, when you send an email, you'll have the option to recall it within the set time frame. To do so:
- Go to the "Sent" folder in your Gmail account.
- Find the email you want to recall and click on the three vertical dots next to it.
- Select "Undo" from the dropdown menu.
- Confirm that you want to recall the email.
Method 2: Using the "Unsend" feature (only available for some accounts)
If you have a Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) account or a Gmail account with the "Unsend" feature enabled, you can use this method:
- Go to your Gmail account and click on the three vertical dots next to the "Send" button.
- Select "Unsend" from the dropdown menu.
- Confirm that you want to recall the email.
Important notes:
- The "Undo Send" feature only works for emails sent within the set time frame. If you wait too long, you won't be able to recall the email.
- The "Unsend" feature is only available for some accounts and may not work for all emails.
- Recalling an email does not guarantee that the recipient will not have seen the email or that it will be deleted from their inbox.
- If you're using a third-party email client or app to access your Gmail account, the "Undo Send" feature may not work.
