How to report yahoo mail phishing

If you suspect that you have received a phishing email from Yahoo, you can report it to Yahoo's security team using the following steps:

  1. Forward the email to [email protected]. This will help Yahoo's security team to analyze the email and take appropriate action.
  2. Report the email to Yahoo's Phishing Reporting Tool. You can do this by following these steps:
    • Log in to your Yahoo account.
    • Click on the gear icon in the top right corner of the page.
    • Select "Help" from the dropdown menu.
    • Click on "Report a phishing email" from the help menu.
    • Enter the email address of the sender and a brief description of the email.
    • Click on "Report" to submit the report.
  3. If you have already clicked on a link or provided your login credentials in response to the phishing email, you should change your Yahoo password immediately and enable two-factor authentication (2FA) to add an extra layer of security to your account.

Additionally, you can also report the phishing email to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) using the following steps:

  1. Report the email to the FTC: You can report the email to the FTC by visiting their website at www.ftc.gov and clicking on "File a complaint" at the top of the page. Fill out the complaint form and select "Phishing" as the type of complaint.
  2. Report the email to the IC3: You can report the email to the IC3 by visiting their website at www.ic3.gov and clicking on "File a complaint" at the top of the page. Fill out the complaint form and select "Phishing" as the type of complaint.

Remember to always be cautious when receiving emails from unknown senders, and never provide your login credentials or sensitive information in response to an email that you were not expecting.
