How to retrieve back the sent mail in outlook

The frustration of accidentally sending an email and wanting to retrieve it back! Don't worry, I'm here to help. Here are the steps to retrieve a sent email in Outlook:

Method 1: Using the "Recall" feature

  1. Open Outlook and go to the "Sent Items" folder.
  2. Find the email you want to retrieve and right-click on it.
  3. Select "Recall This Message" from the context menu.
  4. In the "Recall This Message" dialog box, select the option "Delete unread copies of this message" and click "OK".
  5. If the recipient has already read the email, you'll receive a notification saying "The recipient has already read the message".

Method 2: Using the "Undo Send" feature (Outlook 2013 and later)

  1. Open Outlook and go to the "Sent Items" folder.
  2. Find the email you want to retrieve and right-click on it.
  3. Select "Undo Send" from the context menu.
  4. In the "Undo Send" dialog box, select the option "Undo Send" and click "OK".
  5. If the recipient has already read the email, you'll receive a notification saying "The recipient has already read the message".

Method 3: Using the "Move to Folder" feature

  1. Open Outlook and go to the "Sent Items" folder.
  2. Find the email you want to retrieve and drag it to the "Drafts" folder.
  3. Right-click on the email in the "Drafts" folder and select "Move to Folder" from the context menu.
  4. Select the "Sent Items" folder again and click "OK".
  5. The email will now be moved back to the "Sent Items" folder, allowing you to recall it.

Method 4: Using the "Purge" feature (Outlook 2010 and earlier)

  1. Open Outlook and go to the "Sent Items" folder.
  2. Find the email you want to retrieve and right-click on it.
  3. Select "Purge" from the context menu.
  4. In the "Purge" dialog box, select the option "Purge" and click "OK".
  5. The email will be permanently deleted from the "Sent Items" folder.

Please note that these methods may not work if the recipient has already read the email or if the email has been deleted from their inbox. Additionally, if you're using a shared mailbox or an Exchange server, the recall feature may not work as expected.
