How to revert a mail in gmail

To revert a sent email in Gmail, you can use the "Undo Send" feature, which allows you to retract an email within a certain time frame after sending it. Here's how:

Method 1: Using the "Undo Send" feature

  1. Go to your Gmail account and click on the gear icon in the upper right corner.
  2. Select "See all settings" from the dropdown menu.
  3. Scroll down to the "General" tab and look for the "Undo Send" section.
  4. Enable the "Enable Undo Send" toggle switch.
  5. Set the "Undo Send" time frame to your desired duration (5, 10, 15, or 30 seconds).
  6. Click "Save Changes" at the bottom of the page.

Once you've enabled "Undo Send", you'll see a "Undo" link below each sent email in your "Sent" folder. If you click on this link within the set time frame, the email will be reverted and removed from the recipient's inbox.

Method 2: Using the "Undo Send" button

  1. After sending an email, you'll see a "Undo" button below the "Sent" confirmation message.
  2. Click on this button within the set time frame to retract the email.

Method 3: Using the "Revert" feature (for emails sent within the last 30 days)

  1. Go to your Gmail account and click on the "Sent" folder.
  2. Find the email you want to revert and click on the three vertical dots next to it.
  3. Select "Revert" from the dropdown menu.
  4. Confirm that you want to revert the email by clicking "Revert" again.

Note that the "Revert" feature only works for emails sent within the last 30 days, and it may not be available for all emails.

Important: Keep in mind that the "Undo Send" feature is not foolproof, and there's a small chance that the email may still be delivered to the recipient's inbox even after you've tried to retract it.
