How to revert mail in gmail
Reverting an email in Gmail is also known as "Undo Send" or "Take Back Send". This feature allows you to retract an email you've sent within a certain time frame. Here's how to do it:
Enable Undo Send:
- Log in to your Gmail account.
- Click on the gear icon in the upper right corner.
- Select "See all settings" from the dropdown menu.
- Scroll down to the "General" tab.
- Look for the "Undo Send" section.
- Click on the toggle button to enable it.
- Choose the time frame for which you want to be able to retract your emails (5, 10, 15, or 30 seconds).
Revert an Email:
- After sending an email, you'll see a "Undo" link at the top of the page.
- Click on the "Undo" link within the chosen time frame (5, 10, 15, or 30 seconds).
- The email will be reverted, and the recipient will not receive it.
Note:
- The "Undo Send" feature only works for emails sent from the Gmail web interface. It doesn't work for emails sent from the Gmail mobile app or other email clients.
- If you've sent an email and want to retract it, but the "Undo" link has disappeared, you can try refreshing the page or checking your email's "Sent" folder.
- If you've sent an email and want to retract it, but the recipient has already received it, you can try sending a follow-up email to retract the original email. However, this may not be effective, as the recipient may have already read or responded to the original email.
