How to set date format in word mail merge

In Microsoft Word, when performing a mail merge, you can set the date format for the merged documents using the following methods:

Method 1: Using the "Format" tab in the "Merge Field" dialog box

  1. Open your Word document and go to the "Mailings" tab in the ribbon.
  2. Click on "Select Recipients" and then "Use an Existing List" to select your data source.
  3. Click on "Insert Merge Field" to insert a merge field for the date you want to format.
  4. Right-click on the merge field and select "Format" to open the "Format" tab.
  5. In the "Format" tab, click on the "Date" button in the "Number" group.
  6. In the "Date" dialog box, select the date format you want to use from the "Short date" or "Long date" dropdown menus.

Method 2: Using the "Number" tab in the "Paragraph" dialog box

  4. Select the merge field and go to the "Home" tab in the ribbon.

  8. Click "OK" to close the "Format" dialog box and then click "OK" again to close the "Toggle Field" dialog box.
