How to setup an alias in mac mail

To set up an alias in Mac Mail, you can follow these steps:

  1. Open Mac Mail and go to the "Mail" menu and select "Preferences".
  2. Click on the "Accounts" tab and select the account you want to set up an alias for.
  3. Click on the "Advanced" tab.
  4. Scroll down to the "Outgoing Mail Server" section and click on the "Edit" button next to "SMTP Server".
  5. In the "SMTP Server" window, click on the "Authentication" tab.
  6. Check the box next to "Use Authentication" and enter your username and password.
  7. Click "OK" to close the "SMTP Server" window.
  8. Go back to the "Advanced" tab and scroll down to the "Send Mail" section.
  9. Click on the "Edit" button next to "Send Using".
  10. In the "Send Using" window, select "SMTP" from the dropdown menu.
  11. Enter the alias email address in the "SMTP Server" field.
  12. Click "OK" to close the "Send Using" window.
  13. Click "OK" to close the "Preferences" window.

Alternatively, you can also set up an alias by going to the "Mail" menu and selecting "Preferences", then clicking on the "Accounts" tab, selecting the account you want to set up an alias for, and clicking on the "Edit" button next to "Account Information". Then, scroll down to the "Send Mail" section and click on the "Edit" button next to "Send Using". In the "Send Using" window, select "SMTP" from the dropdown menu and enter the alias email address in the "SMTP Server" field.

Note: Make sure to replace the "SMTP Server" field with the actual SMTP server address of your email provider.
