How to single space emails in outlook
The age-old problem of double-spacing in Outlook emails!
There are a few ways to single-space emails in Outlook:
Method 1: Using the "Format Text" option
- Open your email composition window in Outlook.
- Select the text you want to single-space.
- Go to the "Home" tab in the ribbon.
- Click on the "Format Text" button in the "Paragraph" group.
- In the "Format Text" dialog box, select "Single" from the "Line spacing" dropdown menu.
- Click "OK" to apply the changes.
Method 2: Using the "Paragraph" options
- Open your email composition window in Outlook.
- Select the text you want to single-space.
- Go to the "Home" tab in the ribbon.
- Click on the "Paragraph" button in the "Paragraph" group.
- In the "Paragraph" dialog box, select "Single" from the "Line spacing" dropdown menu.
- Click "OK" to apply the changes.
Method 3: Using the "Quick Styles"
- Open your email composition window in Outlook.
- Select the text you want to single-space.
- Go to the "Home" tab in the ribbon.
- Click on the "Quick Styles" button in the "Styles" group.
- Select "Normal" from the dropdown menu.
- This will apply the default single-spacing to your text.
Method 4: Using the "Keyboard Shortcut"
- Open your email composition window in Outlook.
- Select the text you want to single-space.
- Press "Ctrl + Shift + 8" on your keyboard.
- This will apply single-spacing to your selected text.
Note: If you want to apply single-spacing to all new emails you compose in Outlook, you can modify the default email template. To do this, go to "File" > "Options" > "Mail" > "Compose messages", and then select "Single" from the "Line spacing" dropdown menu.
