How to tag someone in outlook mail

To tag someone in an Outlook email, you can use the "To" field and start typing the person's name or email address. As you type, Outlook will suggest names from your contacts list. You can then select the person's name from the dropdown list to add them as a recipient.

Here are the steps:

  1. Compose a new email or reply to an existing one in Outlook.
  2. In the "To" field, start typing the person's name or email address.
  3. As you type, Outlook will suggest names from your contacts list. You can see the suggestions below the "To" field.
  4. Select the person's name from the dropdown list to add them as a recipient.
  5. You can also use the "CC" field to add additional recipients who should receive a copy of the email.
  6. Once you've added the recipient, you can type a brief description or tag in the "Tag" field to help you quickly identify the recipient. For example, you could type "John - Urgent" to indicate that the email is urgent and should be prioritized.
  7. Click the "Send" button to send the email.

Alternatively, you can also use the "Assign Task" feature in Outlook to assign a task to someone and tag them in the email. Here's how:

  1. Compose a new email or reply to an existing one in Outlook.
  2. In the "To" field, start typing the person's name or email address.
  3. Select the person's name from the dropdown list to add them as a recipient.
  4. Click the "Assign Task" button in the "Tags" field.
  5. In the "Assign Task" window, enter a brief description of the task and set the due date and priority.
  6. Click "OK" to assign the task and add the recipient to the email.
  7. Click the "Send" button to send the email.

Note that the "Assign Task" feature is only available in Outlook 2013 and later versions. In earlier versions of Outlook, you can use the "Task" feature to assign a task to someone, but it will not be linked to the email.
