How to turn off icloud mail
To turn off iCloud Mail, you'll need to disable the iCloud Mail account on your device and set up a different email account as your default email account. Here's how to do it:
On an iPhone or iPad:
- Go to Settings.
- Tap on [your name] > iCloud.
- Tap on iCloud Mail.
- Toggle off the switch next to iCloud Mail.
- You'll be prompted to confirm that you want to disable iCloud Mail. Tap Disable.
- Go back to the Settings app and tap on Mail.
- Tap on Accounts.
- Find your iCloud Mail account and tap on it.
- Tap on Delete Account.
- Confirm that you want to delete the account by tapping Delete.
On a Mac:
- Go to System Preferences.
- Click on iCloud.
- Sign in with your Apple ID and password if prompted.
- Click on Mail.
- Uncheck the box next to Enable Mail.
- Click OK.
- Go to Mail app.
- Click on Mail menu and select Preferences.
- Click on Accounts.
- Select your iCloud Mail account and click on Edit.
- Click on - (minus sign) to remove the account.
- Confirm that you want to remove the account by clicking Remove.
Note: Disabling iCloud Mail will not delete your iCloud Mail account or its associated data. You can still access your iCloud Mail account through the iCloud website or by re-enabling it on your device.
If you want to completely delete your iCloud Mail account, you can do so by following these steps:
On an iPhone or iPad:
- Go to Settings.
- Tap on [your name] > iCloud.
- Tap on iCloud Mail.
- Tap on Delete Account.
- Confirm that you want to delete the account by tapping Delete.
On a Mac:
- Go to System Preferences.
- Click on iCloud.
- Sign in with your Apple ID and password if prompted.
- Click on Mail.
- Click on Delete Account.
- Confirm that you want to delete the account by clicking Delete.
Remember that deleting your iCloud Mail account will also delete all associated data, including emails, contacts, and calendar events.
