How to turn on mail drop on macbook air

Mail Drop is a feature in macOS that allows you to send large files via email by uploading them to iCloud and sharing a link with the recipient. Here's how to turn on Mail Drop on your MacBook Air:

Method 1: Enable Mail Drop in Mail Preferences

  1. Open the Mail app on your MacBook Air.
  2. Click on "Mail" in the top menu bar and select "Preferences" (or use the keyboard shortcut Command + comma).
  3. In the Preferences window, click on the "General" tab.
  4. Check the box next to "Use Mail Drop to send large attachments" to enable the feature.

Method 2: Enable Mail Drop in iCloud Settings

  1. Click on the Apple menu and select "System Preferences" (or use the keyboard shortcut Command + space).
  2. Click on "iCloud" in the System Preferences window.
  3. Click on the "Mail" tab.
  4. Check the box next to "Use Mail Drop to send large attachments" to enable the feature.

Once you've enabled Mail Drop, you can use it to send large files via email. When you try to send a file that's too large to attach to an email, Mail will prompt you to use Mail Drop instead. You can then upload the file to iCloud and share a link with the recipient.

Note: Mail Drop is available for files up to 5GB in size. If you need to send a file larger than 5GB, you may need to use a different method, such as using a file transfer service or sharing the file through a cloud storage service like Dropbox or Google Drive.
