How to unarchive outlook emails
Unarchiving emails in Outlook can be a bit tricky, but I'm here to help you with that. Here are the steps to unarchive emails in Outlook:
Method 1: Using the "Move to Folder" option
- Open Outlook and navigate to the "Archived" folder (usually located under "On-Premises Archives" or "Cloud-Based Archives" depending on your Outlook version and setup).
- Select the email(s) you want to unarchive by checking the box next to each email.
- Right-click on the selected email(s) and choose "Move to Folder" from the context menu.
- In the "Move Items" dialog box, select the folder where you want to move the email(s) (e.g., "Inbox", "Sent Items", etc.).
- Click "OK" to move the email(s) to the selected folder.
Method 2: Using the "Restore" option (Outlook 2013 and later)
- Open Outlook and navigate to the "Archived" folder.
- Select the email(s) you want to unarchive by checking the box next to each email.
- Right-click on the selected email(s) and choose "Restore" from the context menu.
- In the "Restore Items" dialog box, select the folder where you want to restore the email(s) (e.g., "Inbox", "Sent Items", etc.).
- Click "OK" to restore the email(s) to the selected folder.
Method 3: Using the "Search" function
- Open Outlook and click on the "Search" button in the top-right corner of the window.
- In the "Search" dialog box, type "is:archived" in the search box to find all archived emails.
- Select the email(s) you want to unarchive by checking the box next to each email.
- Right-click on the selected email(s) and choose "Move to Folder" or "Restore" (depending on your Outlook version) to move or restore the email(s) to the desired folder.
Additional tips:
- Make sure you have the necessary permissions to unarchive emails, as this may depend on your organization's email policies.
- If you're using Outlook Web App (OWA), you may need to use the "Restore" option instead of "Move to Folder".
- If you're using Exchange Server, you may need to use the "Restore" option instead of "Move to Folder" to unarchive emails.
