How to undelete an email from mail
The frustration of accidentally deleting an important email! Don't worry, I'm here to help you recover it. Here are the steps to undelete an email from Mail (Apple's email client):
Method 1: Check the "Recently Deleted" folder
- Open Mail on your Mac or iOS device.
- Click on the "Mailboxes" button in the top left corner of the screen.
- Select "Recently Deleted" from the list of mailboxes.
- Look for the deleted email in the "Recently Deleted" folder. If you find it, you can move it back to your inbox or another mailbox by dragging and dropping it.
Method 2: Use the "Trash" folder
- Open Mail on your Mac or iOS device.
- Click on the "Mailboxes" button in the top left corner of the screen.
- Select "Trash" from the list of mailboxes.
- Look for the deleted email in the "Trash" folder. If you find it, you can move it back to your inbox or another mailbox by dragging and dropping it.
Method 3: Use the "Recover Deleted Messages" feature (Mac only)
- Open Mail on your Mac.
- Click on "Mail" in the top menu bar.
- Select "Recover Deleted Messages" from the drop-down menu.
- A window will appear showing a list of deleted messages. Look for the email you want to recover.
- Select the email and click "Recover" to move it back to your inbox or another mailbox.
Method 4: Use a third-party email recovery software (Mac only)
- Download and install an email recovery software like Disk Drill or EaseUS Email Recovery.
- Follow the software's instructions to scan your Mac's hard drive for deleted emails.
- Once the scan is complete, you should be able to recover and restore the deleted email.
Important notes:
- The "Recently Deleted" folder and "Trash" folder only keep deleted emails for a limited time, usually 30 days. After that, the emails are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
- If you've emptied the "Trash" folder or the "Recently Deleted" folder, you may not be able to recover the email.
- Using third-party email recovery software may not always work, and there's a risk of data corruption or loss.
I hope these methods help you recover your deleted email!
