How to use instant messenger in yahoo mail
A blast from the past! Yahoo Mail's instant messenger, also known as Yahoo Messenger, was a popular feature that allowed users to chat with friends and family in real-time. Although Yahoo has discontinued its standalone Messenger service, you can still use the instant messaging feature within Yahoo Mail. Here's how:
Using Instant Messenger in Yahoo Mail:
- Sign in to your Yahoo Mail account: Go to mail.yahoo.com and sign in with your Yahoo Mail credentials.
- Click on the "Contacts" tab: Once you're logged in, click on the "Contacts" tab located at the top of the page.
- Find a contact: Search for the contact you want to chat with by typing their name or email address in the search bar.
- Click on the contact's name: Select the contact's name from the search results to open their contact card.
- Click on the "Chat" button: Click on the "Chat" button located next to the contact's name or profile picture.
- Start chatting: A chat window will open, allowing you to type and send messages to your contact in real-time.
Additional Tips:
- You can also initiate a chat by clicking on the "Chat" button located at the top of the page, next to the "Compose" button.
- If you have multiple contacts online, you can switch between conversations by clicking on the contact's name in the chat window.
- You can also use the "File" menu to send files, images, and other attachments to your contact.
- Yahoo Mail's instant messenger supports text, images, and file sharing, but it does not support voice or video calls.
Note: While you can still use the instant messaging feature within Yahoo Mail, it's worth noting that Yahoo has discontinued its standalone Messenger service, and some features may not be available or may be limited.
