Howdah comcast webmail

A blast from the past!

Howdah was a web-based email service provided by Comcast, a major American telecommunications company. It was launched in the late 1990s and was one of the earliest web-based email services offered by a major internet service provider (ISP).

Howdah was designed to be a simple, easy-to-use email service that allowed Comcast customers to access their email accounts from any internet-connected device. The service was free to Comcast customers and offered a range of features, including:

  1. Web-based access: Users could access their email accounts from any device with an internet connection.
  2. POP3 and IMAP support: Howdah supported both POP3 and IMAP protocols, allowing users to access their email accounts from multiple devices.
  3. Spam filtering: Howdah included basic spam filtering to help reduce the amount of junk email users received.
  4. Storage: Howdah offered a generous amount of email storage space, allowing users to store a large number of messages.

However, in 2013, Comcast announced that it would be discontinuing Howdah and replacing it with a new email service called Comcast Email. The new service offered many of the same features as Howdah, but with a more modern design and additional features, such as:

  1. Improved spam filtering: Comcast Email included more advanced spam filtering capabilities to help reduce the amount of junk email users received.
  2. Larger storage: Comcast Email offered even more email storage space than Howdah, allowing users to store even more messages.
  3. Mobile access: Comcast Email was designed to be accessible from mobile devices, making it easy for users to check their email on-the-go.

Today, Comcast Email is still available to Comcast customers, and it offers many of the same features as Howdah, but with a more modern design and additional features.
