Imap server for yahoo mail
To access your Yahoo Mail account using an IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) server, you'll need to use the following settings:
IMAP Server Settings:
- Server: imap.mail.yahoo.com
- Port: 993 (SSL/TLS)
- Username: Your full Yahoo Mail address (e.g., [yourname]@yahoo.com)
- Password: Your Yahoo Mail password
Note: Make sure to enable IMAP access in your Yahoo Mail account settings. To do this:
- Log in to your Yahoo Mail account.
- Click on the gear icon () in the top right corner.
- Select "More settings" from the dropdown menu.
- Click on "Account info" from the left-hand menu.
- Scroll down to the "Account security" section.
- Click on "Allow apps that use less secure sign in" to enable IMAP access.
Additional Tips:
- If you're using a third-party email client or app, you may need to configure it to use the IMAP server settings above.
- Yahoo Mail has a limit on the number of IMAP connections allowed per account. If you exceed this limit, you may need to wait for the connections to timeout or contact Yahoo Mail support for assistance.
- Keep in mind that using IMAP may not be the most secure way to access your Yahoo Mail account, as it allows your email client or app to connect directly to the Yahoo Mail server. If security is a concern, you may want to consider using POP3 or the Yahoo Mail web interface instead.
