Import mail into gmail

To import emails from another email account into Gmail, you can use the "Import emails and contacts" feature in Gmail settings. Here's how:

Step 1: Enable IMAP

Before you can import emails, you need to enable IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) in your other email account. IMAP allows your email client to access and download emails from your account. Here's how to enable IMAP for popular email providers:

Step 2: Set up your other email account in Gmail

  1. Log in to your Gmail account.
  2. Click on the gear icon in the upper right corner and select "See all settings."
  3. Go to the "Accounts and Import" tab.
  4. Click on "Add a POP3 mail account" or "Add a non-Gmail account."
  5. Enter your email address and password for your other email account.
  6. Click "Add account."

Step 3: Import emails

  1. Go back to the "Accounts and Import" tab.
  2. Click on "Import emails and contacts."
  3. Select the email account you just set up.
  4. Choose the email address you want to import from.
  5. Select the date range you want to import emails from (e.g., "All available emails" or "From [date] to [date]").
  6. Click "Start import."

Gmail will start importing your emails from your other account. This process may take some time, depending on the number of emails you have.
