India mail tracking
India Post, the postal service of India, offers a mail tracking system to track the status of your mail. Here's how you can track your mail:
Online Tracking
- Visit the India Post website at www.indiapost.gov.in.
- Click on the "Track Your Consignment" tab at the top of the page.
- Enter your consignment number (also known as the tracking number) in the required field.
- Click on the "Track" button to view the status of your mail.
Mobile App
- Download the India Post mobile app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
- Open the app and click on the "Track Your Consignment" tab.
- Enter your consignment number in the required field.
- Click on the "Track" button to view the status of your mail.
SMS Tracking
- Send an SMS to 51969 with the format "TRACK
". - You will receive an SMS with the status of your mail.
Phone Tracking
- Call the India Post customer care number at 1800-425-1444 (toll-free) or 011-2331-4444 (for Delhi/NCR).
- Provide your consignment number to the customer care representative.
- They will assist you in tracking the status of your mail.
Tracking Status
India Post provides the following tracking status updates:
- "Received" - The mail has been received at the nearest post office.
- "In Transit" - The mail is in transit to its destination.
- "Out for Delivery" - The mail is out for delivery at the destination.
- "Delivered" - The mail has been delivered to the recipient.
- "Return to Sender" - The mail has been returned to the sender due to an incorrect address or other reasons.
Note: India Post may not provide tracking updates for all types of mail, such as ordinary mail or registered mail.
